When does this actually launch?

How is this different from just using Polymarket?

We use Polymarket's liquidity and resolution. The mobile experience, swipe mechanics, position sizing, and feed are all ours. You get the same markets, in an interface that was designed for the device you're holding.
Do I need crypto or a wallet?

Not to sign up, not to use the app. Deposits work with what you already have. The crypto is plumbing, you don't have to think about it.
Is this legal where I am?
